Historic Green Vault

Built between 1723 and 1730, the treasure chamber of August the Strong is a baroque Gesamtkunstwerk par excellence and hosts an abundance of gold, rock crystal and diamonds, each more brilliant than the other. Like a timetraveller, you can experience the splendor of the Baroque while walking through authentically restored rooms, such as the Amber Cabinet, Ivory & White Silver Chamber or the Jewelry Hall. For conservational considerations, admission tickets are strictly limited and thus it is advisable to buy the respective tickets in advance.

Royal Palace Dresden

The beating heart and origin of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden is the Royal Palace, the center of the Old Town. This palace hosts various renowned exhibitions and is sometimes lovingly called "the Saxonian Louvre". Right from the start, the Volkswagen Transparent Factory has been more than just a modern production facility. Its modern architecture is a distinct symbol of innovative automotive engineering. For more than 14 years the top-class model "Phaeton" has been manufactured here. In March 2016, reconstruction works were conducted. In the future, the new e-Golf shall leave those halls of glass, ready for the road. One can already visit an exhibition that explains the future prospects of electric mobility.
